Students who wish to start a club/organization and become part of the Student Government shall be subject to the following:

·        Announce the Club/Organization Advisor to the SGA.
·        Present its purpose to the Senate.

Once the club/organization has completed the above guidelines:

·        The vote for a club/organization to enter a probationary period with the Student Government shall be postponed one meeting after the club/organization’s application for inclusion has been submitted, to allow the Senate time for review.
·        A simple majority vote by the Senate must be obtained in order for the club/organization to enter a probationary period in the SGA. The probationary period shall consist of 14 class weeks (Note: “class week” is defined as weeks during which classes are held in the Fall and Spring semesters).

Once accepted into the SGA under probationary status, the club/organization:

·        Must have at least one member present at all SGA meetings.  The club/organization shall organize and successfully carry out a campus activity with the supervision of a Senate-nominated member of the SGA.

·        Shall be allocated a budget for that probationary period. The probationary budget shall be created by the SGA Executive Board according to what the club/organization’s outlook for the year will be, member roster size, and the stated purpose of the club/organization.

·        Shall be required to fundraise ten percent (10%) of their allotted probationary budget.

At the end of the trial period, the club/organization president and/or members of the club’s executive board shall again come before the SGA and give a report of their probationary period. The SGA-sponsored member assigned to the club/organization shall then give a cursory analysis of the club/organization’s involvement and activities on campus.

Upon final Senate approval of the club/organization’s inclusion into the SGA, the new club/organization must then conform to the guidelines of the SGA Constitution.
