Tech Center Parking Lottery Legislation - 001

Whereas, the Student Government Association is tasked with running the Tech Center Lottery

Whereas, the Tech Center Lottery procedure is not described within the SGA Constitution

Be it resolved, that the Tech Center Lottery be implemented as follows:

I.                    The Tech Center Lottery will be chaired by the SGA Vice President.  The Committee will consist of the SGA Vice President, SGA Upperclass PR, Faculty Representative from the Tech Center, and the Student Activities Coordinator.

II.                 The Tech Center Lottery will be announced the second week of classes each semester and Sign Up sheets will be posted.  All Sign Up sheets will be posted on the first day of the week and removed the last day of the week.

III.               The Tech Center Passes may not exceed ninety-five (95) full time passes and ten (10) alternates.  Alternates are given passes only when a full time pass is not picked up by recipient.

IV.              The following outlines the weighting system:

a.       All students will be given one (1) chance in the drawing.

b.       Students whose names appear more than once on the sign up sheets shall have their names removed from the drawing.  Students who misrepresent their semester status shall have their names removed from the drawing.

c.       Students having a semester status of one (1) through four (4), shall be eligible to receive any of thirty-five (35) passes.  Students having a semester status of five (5) or greater shall be eligible to receive any of sixty (60) passes.  Any student of any semester status will be eligible to be drawn as an alternate.

V.                 The names will be drawn by the committee on the first Monday of the third week and announced on Tuesday.  All passes will then be distributed through the Office of Campus Security at their discretion.

Respectfully Submitted,
