Thank you for all your hard work this year! Your passion, motivation, and constant energy have truly shown not only throughout THON weekend, but also throughout the entire year! THANK YOU for everything!
...Meet our THON Family...
Women in Business was first paired with the Camacho-Gettle Family in 2004 and has continued to be paired with them ever since! Our THON-Child, Lakeisha, born on July 19, 2002 in Lebanon, PA was only 10 months old when she started developing symptoms that eventually let to her diagnosis of leukemia. After 15 hospital stays, 152 visits to the doctor and 23 trips to the emergency room, Lakeisha took her last dose of chemotherapy in January 2006. She has been in remission and off-treatment ever since! Lakeisha’s mom, Tonya, has been an inspiration to all of us, coming through tough times always in good spirits and hoping for the best. Lakeisha also has two sisters Lelani (7), Lakjya (2), and a half-sister, Kiara (11).
Over the past few years, we have gotten to do a lot of fun things with our THON-family and they have become a big part of our WIB family. We look forward to spending the weekend with them every year at THON, dancing and playing games for hours! It wouldn’t be the same without our favorite smiling little girls! Last year, we started a few traditions, such as spending the first canning weekend at Tonya’s house, taking the girls out canning, watching movies, and having a girl’s night sleepover! We also enjoy spending the day with them at the Family Carnival in the White Building every November and our annual Winter Break day trip to Chuck-E-Cheese. The Camacho-Gettle family loves meeting new WIB members; come out and get to know them better at THON 2012!
