- First General Meeting (9/2/09)
- WIB kicked off the new semester with a brief introduction and history of our club.
- Resume Workshop with Robin Stevens (9/10/09)
- Robin Stevens from Career and Corporate Services gave a presentation on resume tips followed by a resume review session.
- News America Marketing (9/17/09)
- Recent WIB alumni, Kayla Smith, discussed ways to smooth the transition from college life to the workforce. She came representing her current employer, News Marketing America, and gave an overview of the company.
- Johnson & Johnson Tailgate Competition(9/19/09) Pictures!
- The executive board participated in a friendly tailgating competition for a donation toward their THON total. The girls won 3rd place for a prize of $500!
- Shaver's Creek Teambuilding Event(9/20/09) Pictures!
- Members traveled to Shaver's Creek for a fun day of team building activities, barbequing, and rock climbing.
- First INvolvement Night (9/23/09)
- Members learned about the upcoming events for fall semester.
- First THON Meeting (9/24/09)
- Stephanie and Katie explained THON's history and WIB's involvement in THON. Members were able to sign up for the first canning trip at this time.
- First Community Service Meeting (9/28/09)
- Jen discussed this semester's community service projects including raising money for breast cancer and participating in the crop walk.
- Urish Popeck & Co. (9/30/09)
- Representatives discussed how to present yourself in an office setting and handle office politics appropriatley.
- Pepsi Bottling Group (10/7/09)
- Employees from Pepsi Bottling Group presented their company to members.
- Posters for Lakeisha (10/14/09)
- The THON committee packed into the WIB office to make decorated signs for canning.
- Liberty Mutual Luncheon (10/15/09)
- Members met with a representative from Liberity Mutual over lunch to discuss career/internship opportunies and to ask questions regarding the company.
- Crop Walk (10/18/09)
- The community service committee participated in the Crop Walk for hunger.
- Capital One Luncheon (10/19/09)
- Members enjoyed a catered lunch and learned about internship opportunities for juniors and leadership conference opportunies for sophomores.
- Second Community Service Meeting (10/20/09)
- Members learned about upcoming events, such as the spaghetti dinner. We revealed our progress on the bracelets for breast cancer fundraiser. We have raised over $400!
- Geico Corp(10/21/09)
- Facts about women in the workforce were presented to our members in an interactive presentation. Members had a chance to voice their opinions on these shocking statistics.
- Donna Lagani: Cosmopolitan Group (10/21/09)
- The Vice President of Publishing of Cosmopolitan magazine hosted an intimate group discussion.
- First Canning Weekend (10/23-10/25) Pictures!
- Members traveled to raise money for THON on the first canning weekend. It was a great success.
- Second THON Meeting (10/26/09)
- The total from the first canning trip was unvieled and planning for the next trip began.
- 2nd INvolvement Night (10/27/09)
- Our WIBterns were introduced, our top 10 members were announced and rewarded, and plans for upcoming events were dicussed.
- WIB's Annual Hayride Event (10/29/09) Pictures!
- It was a perfect night for a hayride! We played games, made s'mores, and socialized at one of the most popular social events of the year.
- THON 5K (11/1/09)
- We had an amazing turnout of 42 members come out to support THON by running or walking in the annual race.
- THON Spaghetti Dinner(11/5/09)
- WIB hosted a spaghetti dinner at Abba Java Cafe to fundraise for THON. The girls cooked up a huge meal of spaghetti, garlic bread, and other treats to serve to friends and supporters.
- Lia Sophia Social (11/6/09)
- Members gathered with a representative from Lia Sophia and were able to purchase jewelry. A portion of all jewelry purchased went to our THON total.
- Ice Skating for Lakeisha (11/8/09)
- Girls went as a group to the Penn State Ice Rink for a fun afternoon of ice skating. They also made greeting cards to send to WIB's THON child and brought donations for gifts.
- 4th Annual Etiquette Dinner (11/10/09)
- The 4th Annual Etiquette Dinner was held in the Assembly Room at the Nittany Lion Inn. WIB members learned the proper business and meal etiquette from host Rick Capozzi. Girls got the chance to work on networking with representatives from companies including Target, KPMG, PNC, Altria, and Kohls.
- 3rd INvolvement Night (11/12/09)
- Annoucements were made regarding upcoming topics such as WIB week and the trip to Wharton for a Women in Business conference.
- THON Family Carnival (11/15/09)
- Our THON family came to State College to enjoy a day with WIB at the THON family carnival.
- 3rd Community Service Meeting (11/16/09)
- The committee met for the final time of the semester to review past events as well as plan for what is to come in the future.
