2009 Attendees

The Dynamic Women in Business Conference at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts is January 23 to January 25, 2009. The executive board and three general members fly to Boston where they enjoy an enriching experience. The WIB attendees bond by going to Boston attractions like the aquarium and the Sky Walk Observatory. The weekend is filled with traveling around the lively city of Boston as well as attending the Harvard Conference and meeting inspirational women.

Selection process: General members must apply by submitting numerous short answers about their involvement in Women in Business and their interest for attending the conference. WIB was able to increase the number of general members who can attend the conference from two to three in the 2008-2009 academic year. If you have any questions or comments, please contact the Financial Director, Bridget O'Grady, bko5006@psu.edu.

Penn State's Inspiration: For the past seven years, Women in Business has attended the Harvard Conference, which has inspired WIB to plan its own conference at Penn State. The Powerful Women Paving the Way Conference held at the Penn Stater in March is similar to the the Harvard Conference because both conferences bring together a variety of women to network, mentor, and share experiences.

The 2009 Dynamic Women in Business Conference at the Harvard Business School featured keynote speakers Leslie Blodgett, CEO of Bare Escentuals, and Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Action Fund.
