Joining The Club:

  • No cuts – anyone is welcome to come learn the game of Water Polo. ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME.
  • Night Practices – practices are typically 10pm-12am at McCoy Natatorium Sunday – Thursday nights. See practice schedule on website.
  • E-mail List – please send an email to the current club President expressing interest in the club so that you can receive emails regarding team practices and special events.

Competitive Players:

  • PSU Polo competes in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Mid-Atlantic Region
  • The team is one of the elite clubs in the Mid-Atlantic, finishing in the conference’s upper tier every year.
  • Experienced players are expected to:
    • Travel 3-5 weekends for regular season games
    • Assist newer/younger players
    • Come to a majority of practices each week (Sun-Thurs) until after Mid-Atlantic Championship.

All Players:

  • Playing time is based on:

1.     Practice attendance

    1. Commitment to team
    2. Skill/Talent level
  • Missing practice
    • Players must notify captains
    • Coming to practice is strongly encouraged
  • Length of Season
    • Practices Start second week of school
    • Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship takes place at the end of October
    • Approximate length of season = two months
  • A Penn State Club Sports Participation Agreement must be completed and handed in to team President before a player can participate in any PSU Water Polo Events!!!! All Participation Agreements MUST include a copy of health insurance information

Officer Positions:

President – organize and coordinate all club events, adhere to PSU Club Sports policies and procedures.

Vice President – assist President in running practices and organizing trips.

Treasurer – collect dues, request funds, manage club’s PSU accounts.

Player/Coach – help run practice, manage substitutions during games.

Conditioning Chair – run pre-practice dry-land workout, prepare swim sets.

THON Chair – organize THON trips (for more information see www.THON.org)

Fundraising Chair – organize fundraising activities to benefit the club and/or charitable organizations.
