Josh Hummel – President

Hanna Oravec – Vice President
Hanna Oravec is currently a BFA Stage Management senior. Previous PSU shows include The Wiz, Little Dog Laughed, and Pentecost. Hanna spent this past summer at Bristol Valley Theatre in Naples, NY, where she stage managed Red Herring and Evita, and helped put up and tear down a lot of sets. Her inbox has been taken over by She Loves Me, which she will SM this fall, and USITT@PSU. In the past she has served as the High School Outreach Education Chair (2008-2009) and Executive Assistant (2007-2008).

Kate Proulx – Treasurer
Kate Proulx is a Senior studying Properties. She is currently working as the Prop Master for Penn State's production of She Loves Me. Previously she has worked as the Prop Master for Romance, Romance, and Co-Prop Master for The Wiz. This past summer she worked as the Prop Artisan for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. In the past she has served as the Concessions Chair for USITT@PSU. She is also heavily involved with productions put on by the Penn State Thespians.

Maureen Murtha – Secretary
Maureen Murtha is currently a BFA Stage Management sophomore. During her exciting freshman year she worked on the crew of A Man of No Importance, and was the head spot operator for The Wiz. This fall semester she is stage managing The Brother’s Size. This is her first year as an officer for USITT @ PSU and she is looking forward to a great year.

William Kenyon – Faculty Advisor
William C. Kenyon is the Head of the BFA Program in Design & Technology at Penn State University. His design specialties are in the areas of Lighting & Sound. He holds a B.F.A. with Honors from the University of Connecticut, and an M.F.A. from Brandeis University. Mr. Kenyon is a Co-Commissioner for Education for USITT, and is regularly involved in KC/ACTF as a Design Respondent. Mr. Kenyon is a member of United Scenic Artists Local #829, in both the Lighting and Sound Design Categories. When not working at the University, Mr. Kenyon continues to design and tour internationally. Mr. Kenyon is the Lighting Designer for the American Indian Dance Theatre, which maintains an active yearly tour schedule. His work has recently been seen in Palestine, Israel, France, Poland, Qatar, New York, & Washington, DC.

Kat Manion – Programming Director
Kat Manion is a senior stage management major who will be graduating this coming December. At Penn State, she has worked on several productions including The Last Days of Judas Iscaiot, The Cherry Orchard, and Babes in Arms. She has also worked at the Battersea Arts Centre in London, England as well as The Wolf Trap Opera Company. After graduation, Kat will be working as an apprentice at Washington National Opera.

Ellie Bye – Advertising, Marketing And Public Relations Chair
Ellie Bye is currently a junior BFA Design and Technology major with an emphasis in scenic and property design. Penn State credits include Word Up!, Cherry Orchard, 304 (the Sitcom), The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, School House Rock Live, and We Are…Dead State (haunted house). In the spring Ellie will be the scenic designer for the Musical Review. In the summer of 2008 Ellie was the set designer for the Off-Broadway play, Lights and Music, in the 45th Street Theatre. This past summer Ellie worked as prop artisan intern at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Ellie looks forward to a successful year with USITT@PSU.

Meghan Dougherty – Fundraising Chair
Meghan Dougherty is a lighting design major who will, with luck, be completing her senior year this May. Credits at Penn State include Urinetown: the Musical!, As You Like It, Ritual Expressions, A Man of No Importance, and Romance Romance. She is currently working on designing the lights for the outdoor production of Romeo and Juliet. She has also worked closely with the Penn State Thespians, serving as the lighting designer for their 07-08 and 08-09 seasons. Fresh from a master electrician gig in Cherokee, North Carolina, Meghan will be serving her first year as an officer for USITT @ PSU. She is looking forward to a good, and profitable, year for the chapter.

Heather Augustine – Conference Delegation Chair
Heather Augustine is currently a sophomore sound design and costume technology major at Penn State. This semester she will be working on several of the productions including designing sound for Schoolhouse Rock Live!, working in the costume shop and on sound crew for Romeo and Juliet and, with the rest of the sound design students, creating the sound design for the Haunted House. During the past few summers she has worked at Sea World San Antonio as an audio operator, but is very happy to be back at school looking forward to a great year for USITT@PSU.

Tim McCarthy - Education Outreach Chair
Tim McCarthy is currently a BFA Technical Director junior. He spends most free time in the scene shop helping build all PSU shows. This year he is TD for School House Rock Live! and Sunday In the Park with George. This past summer Tim spent working at the Santa Fe Opera, which is a five show, world renowned reparatory style opera house. This is his first year on the Executive Board for USITT@PSU but helped run High School Outreach last year. He hopes everyone has a great year.

Brian Kurtz – Webmaster/Historian
Brian "Red" Kurtz is a senior in Lighting Design. This year, Brian will be Assistant Lighting Designer for The Haunted House. His past credits include Lighting Designer for Guys and Dolls, Beauty and the Beast and Footloose, Master Electrician and Assistant Lighting Designer for Aida and Moving Light Programmer for The Wiz. He is very proud to hold the position of webmaster/historian and looks forward to being a continuing part of USITT and the School of Theatre.
