Location
The club is based at Ridge Soaring Gliderport, an airport located near Julian, 10 miles north of campus. Ridge Soaring Gliderport is an independent commercial operation that provides club members with airport facilities, aerotows and, if needed, flight instruction. Ridge Soaring Gliderport is world famous because of the spectacular soaring conditions present along the primary ridges of the Appalachian Mountains. This gliderport is located on Route 220 at the base of the Bald Eagle Ridge and visitors can look at an entire wall of U.S. National and World records that have been set from this airfield. From State College, follow route 322 west to route 220. Follow 220 north towards Lock Haven for 7.3 miles. The gliderport will be on the right.
