Here you will find a brief history of A Cappella music at Penn State and in general |
The Dreamers of Phi Mu Alpha are a male a cappella group that was formed in 1989 by several brothers of the Alpha Zeta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha, a national social music fraternity. This group of college guys started signing do-wop hits from the 50's and 60's for fun, but as their repertoire grew so did the possibility of performing. In the spring of 1989 the group, then directed by Kevin McMahon, sang their first gig at Baby's Burgers and Shakes, and thus began the Dreamers of Phi Mu Alpha. The Dreamers now sing a semesterly concert and are available for weddings, receptions, dinners, parties, and any other gatherings. The money the Dreamers' are able to earn goes to the local chapter of the music fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha, to further music in America.
