Definition of Our Clothing...
The Mime's Rhyme
by Kelli S. Martin
The clothes I wear are black and plain
representing sin's dark stain.
For nothing good was found in me
who'd fallen short of God's glory.
The lights are dimmed around my form
for a world immersed in sin's dark storm.
It clouds our view and dims the Son.
There's no one Holy, no, not one.
But, look, there's white paint on my
face.
God's light in me--O' Blessed Grace,
that wiped away the blot of sin
and purified me from within.
Now my hands are pure & white
washed clean from deeds done in the night.
They minister God's holy plans
prepared before the world began.
My tongue is silenced by desire
to offer it to cleansing fire.
With my mouth bound, the Spirit's free
to show His might and authority.
I use my hands to tell a story
of majesty and splendid glory.
While miming boldly, I proclaim
the Name above all other names.
So though I will not speak to you,
You'll hear by what my motions do.
With every talking hand I raise,
To God be glory--Silent Praise!
