7th: December Monthly Meeting 7pm 208 Ford Building. Guest Speakers will highlight Social Media in the Hiring Process.
November
9th: November Monthly Meeting!! 7:00pm 010 Business Building. Our speaker will be Diane Brown from the Penn State Human Resource Development Center. She will discuss the topic of Networking.
10th: SHRM/SLER HayRide 7:30 pm. Come enjoy a fun-filled evening with snacks, cider, and a live band! Cost is minimal. Contact Brian Social Chair for more information.
30th: Etiquette Dinner at Nittany Lion Inn 6:30-8:30pm. Cost is $15 for dues paying members.
October
12th: 2nd General Meeting 7-8:30pm, 010 Business Building. Our speaker isTom Hogan, Professor in the Department of Labor and Employment Relations who has experience working for Human Resources in large corporations such as AT&T. We will be introducing our Mock Interview Event and talking about upcoming social and professional opportunities. As always come hungry!!

20th: Wine and Cheese Social with SLER 6:30-8 Pollock Gold Room. Come network and enjoy refreshments. Dress is Business Casual.
26th: Mock Interviewing Training Forest Resources Building. Open to all SHRM members interested in learning about being a Recruiter.
September
14th: First General Meeting 7-8:30 p.m., 010 Business Building. Our first general meeting of the year will lay out our plans for the year, feature a guest speaker, and as always offer snacks! Hope to see you there.

24th: Involvement Fair at the HUB. Come check out the SHRM booth in Hertiage Hall!
April
18th: Mt. Nittany Hike. We're making it a SHRMtastic weekend by hiking Mt. Nittany. Contact Nadine for details.
17th: SHRM/SLER Bar Tour. There will be a combined bar tour beginning in the afternoon. For details or to order a t-shirt, contact Nadine.
9th-10th: Relay For Life. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society, this event is a 24-hour walkathon where members of a team must have at least one representative walking on the track at all times to raise money for cancer research. SHRM has combined again this year with SLER to participate. Come support our team this year! The event begins at 5pm on the 9th and will take place in the tailgating field off of Fox Hollow Road. If you have questions, contact Krista.
1st: Relay For Life Happy Valley Freeze Fundraiser. The SHRM/SLER Relay team will be sponsoring a fundraiser at Happy Valley Freeze. Support our team by purchasing some ice cream as a percentage of the proceeds will go towards our total amount raised for Relay. Contact Krista if you have any questions.
March
31st: Relay For Life Pasta Dinner. The SHRM/SLER Relay team will be having a pasta dinner at Cate Rowe's apartment to bond and of course dye t-shirts. If you would like to attend, please bring an item for dinner and notify Krista.
31st: Breakfast with an HR Professional. We will be meeting with a local HR Director who will take us step by step through an investigation to teach us what needs to be done and what needs to be considered when faced with an employee relations issue. We are meeting at Panera from 8:30-10am. If you would like to attend or if you have questions, contact April.
29th-30th: Spring Career Days. Be prepared to present yourself to recruiters at the Spring Career fair at the Bryce Jordan Center. Visit the Career Services website for information about employers and on-campus interviews.
23rd: Relay For Life Benefit Concert. From 8-12pm at Rotelli's, SHRM/SLER's Relay team will be sponsoring a number of performances. There is a $5 cover at the door that will go directly to our Relay team. Come support SHRM and enjoy some local music. Contact Krista with questions.
22nd: CATA Tour. We will be meeting at the Business building at 2:30 to travel to CATA to learn about their operations and human resources from their perspective. Contact Andy if you would like to attend and specify whether or not you are able to drive.
16th: 7th General Meeting of 2009-2010. From 6:30-8:00 p.m. in room 106 of the Smeal Business Building. Our speaker will be Allen Puy, a senior engineer from Lockheed Martin who conducts training on ethics. He will be sharing with us some of the training that he provides at the corporate level. We will also be conducting officer elections for next year so if you are interested in a position, contact Heather.
February
23rd: Internship Profiles Event: From 6:00pm to 8:00pm in 106 Business Building we will be hosting an internship profile event that will highlight some internship tips, featuring real accounts of internship experience from some of our officers as well as advice from professionals.
24th: Centre County Prison Tour. At 1 pm. we will be touring the Centre County Correctional Facility in Bellefonte, PA. There we will tour the facility and learn about HR in the public sector from the county's HR Director.
9th: 6th General Meeting of 2009-2010. From 6:30-8:00 p.m. in room 106 of the Smeal Business Building. Our speaker will be Linda Haft, a member of the HRCI writing panel for PHR/SPHR certification exams, and she will be speaking about this as well as her career in HR.
7th: Etiquette Dinner. At 1pm. we met at the Allen Street Grille for a refresher lesson of our dining etiquette. We were fortunate enough to have Dr. L's mother leading the lesson so we all learned a few things.
7th: Job Builder's Article. Our very own SHRM Officers had the opportunity to write an article for the career section of the Centre Daily Times that was published on February 7th.
