Get Involved!

Membership with the Science Lions can mean a lot of things. One of our major activities is putting on shows, and we are always eager to have more volunteers. You can learn about upcoming shows by coming to meetings and signing up for the listserv by sending a blank email to this link.

Members can also coordinate shows, with the requirement that they have participated in one prior show. Opportunities to coordinate shows are announced at meetings and in listserv emails. You can also contact Ben Roberts to make clear that you are available. If you are uncertain about coordinating a show on your own, you can also co-coordinate a show with a more experienced club member, such as one of our board members.

Club members can also participate in Demo Development. Our collection of demos is constantly being expanded, and we need the ideas and time of volunteers to make them ready for presentation. Work on demos can be in groups or individually, and can be adjusted to your schedule. You can participate in demo development by contacting one of the demo development chairs, whose email addresses are available at the bottom of the page.

If you seek a leadership opportunity, the board is an excellent place to contribute. Board members are expected to attend the general body meetings every other week as well as a board meeting on off weeks. They also help to coordinate shows and other activities for the club.
