Weightlifting Advice for Jujitsu


The way one normally might lift weights (i.e. just to get big) is not the most useful method of weightlifting for functional strength and power, i.e. for Jujitsu.  Check out Mark Ginther's page at www.veloforce.net and especially his free articles on weightlifting and conditioning at http://www.veloforce.net/Articles.html.  Another very good site with free daily workouts posted is www.crossfit.com.  Of special note is Crossfit's definition of 'fit' and 'fitness.'  Many MMA and Jujitsu folks do Crossfit.  You will not regret look at these pages!
