Membership Information:

PSUVO is a social organization, first and foremost. If you want to meet people with shared experiences, who are "non-traditional" students, then PSUVO is for you.

PSUVO membership includes student veterans, veteran alumni of PSU and social members concerned with veterans issues. Our organization assures veterans that they always have a voice in student government, the university community and even the state of Pennsylvania.

Members come from all armed services, many of whom are in the reserves, OCS, and ROTC. Our members are men and women of different ages, ethnic backgrounds and marital status. We represent the full gamut of society, but we all share a common bond.

Social activities include our famous tailgates and gatherings, but are mostly whatever the current membership decides. In the past PSUVO has taken road trips, camping trips, kicked butt in paintball and laser tag, toured facilties and anything that seems like a good idea. After all, PSUVO is your organization—a social organization, but there's more.

On campus, PSUVO organizes and runs the annual Veterans Day observance on the steps of Old Main, bringing in speakers from all around the country and honoring veterans.

PSUVO's membership changes over time, and so the events and activities change as the mood of the organization changes. While PSUVO is not a charitable organization, our members do tend to want to help when they can. In the past, we have assisted with a number of fund-raisers, such as for hurricane relief and organizations like The Wounded Warrior Project. We have assisted with Toys for Tots, sent relief packages to active duty soldiers and supported local charities.

Home football games just wouldn't be the same without a PSUVO tailgate —the BEST tailgates in all of Beaver Stadium's parking lots! In fact, PSUVO won Hatfield's 2005 Best Tailgate award.

We welcome ALL veterans, but we also welcome other interested individuals. We would also like very much to see new members participate in meetings, because after all, this is a club for VETERANS and friends of veterans.
