Even after being absent from the bench for the past two years, former Icers Head Coach Joe Battista is getting the ACHA's attention. The former Icers' coach will be inducted into the ACHA Hall of Fame this week at the annual meetings in Naples, Florida. Battista has already been inducted into the Penn Hills, Pennsylvania Sports and Icers' Hall of Fame during his 19-year coaching career.

"JoeBa's" accomplishments as coach included six, ACHA National Championships (1990, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003) and ACHA Division 1 Coach Of The Year in 2000 and 2002. Anyone who knows him will know that the achievement he is most proud of is the success of his players in the classroom and beyond college. Battista had 41 players named as ACHA Academic All-Americans during his tenure.

Congratulations, Joe on being named to the ACHA Hall Of Fame!
