Philadelphia - Nov. 11, 2001 - Penn State Crew won gold at
the Frostbite and Bill Braxton Memorial Regattas in Philadelphia last weekend. PSU entered
25 boats to race and produced three gold medals, six 2nd place, and three 3rd place finishes.
Dominating the competition and taking gold was Penn State's men's lightweight four, men's
heavyweight four, and women's lightweight four.
PSU Crew competed with and beat such schools as Columbia, University of Delaware, Temple,
Drexel, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Coach John Biddle was very excited about this past weekend and felt that it was the perfect
culmination of all the hard work and success of the fall racing season. He said,
"Penn State Crew's success this fall season is an indicator for the exciting rowing season
to come in the spring."
This concludes Penn State Crew's fall rowing season. PSU Crew will resume their racing
schedule in the spring semester.
