Penn State Crew Wins Blood Cup

University Park, Pa - Dec. 6, 2001 - The Penn State Crew Team won the 8th annual Blood Cup from this year's PSU-MSU Blood Challenge, and was presented with the trophy cup Wednesday night.

The PSU-MSU Blood challenge is a yearly event involving the universities and is won by the university that has the most number of donors between November 5th through November 19th.

The Blood Cup, sponsored by Alpha Epsilon Delta and the American Red Cross, is a competition within the Blood Challenge to recognize the groups that gave the most blood at Penn State.

Many groups compete and are divided into three categories: Large Group, Small Group, and Greek. PSU Crew competed in the Large Group category. The winner is the group that has the highest percentage of members give during the blood drive.

PSU Crew will maintain the trophy cup until next year's drive when they will compete again to defend their title.
