Nittany Lion Kegler Classic Tournament - Rules

- ELIGIBILITY
- Each
team's entry form must specify an accredited college at the
school represented by the team.
- All
participants must be eligible under USBC Collegiate Bowling rules
400-USBC and 207-USBC Amateur Eligibility policies 1 through 3.
All participating teams must file eligibility for all team members
with USBC.
- A college may be represented by more than one team up to 3 in each division in this tournament.
The school must declare one team as its varsity team. All other teams competing from the school will be designeted as Junior varsity teams.
If a school only has 1 team competing in the event, that team will be assigned to the Varsity division.
Each school can have 3 teams in each division.
A team consists of eight (8) bowlers.
"Only three (3) substitutions may be made during any team game or baker game.
Once a player is removed, they cannot return to bowl until the start of a
new team game or baker game, only one of which is allowed in the 10th frame."

There will be separate divisions and awards for Men Varsity and JV also the Women Varsity and JV.
Mixed teams must compete in the men’s division. Women, on mixed teams, will be included in the men’s all-events standings.
Mixed team entries will be accepted, subject to 207-USBC Amateur Eligibility
and will be placed in the Men's Team Division.
Women bowling in the Men's Team Division will be competing for
the Men's Team Division Awards.
- A
single participant may compete on one and only one team.

Team rosters will be limited to eight (8) bowlers. Teams must bowl with five(5) bowlers on a team.
Teams bowling with less than five (5) bowlers will receive zero (0) pins for each missing bowler per
absent frame. NO MAKE-UP FRAMES WILL BE ALLOWED
- Substitutions
A player once removed cannot return to bowl for the remainder of the game. A maximum of three substitutions are
permitted during each game, only one of which is allowed in the 10th frame.
- ENTRY
FEE
Entry fee is $135.00 per team. Entry fee breakdown - Lineage ($90.00), and Expenses ($45.00).
If paying on the day of the tournament, only an
official school check, money order, or cash will be accepted.
Reserved places in the tournament, will be made on a first-come
first-serve basis by mail or online entry.
- ENTRY
DEADLINE
- Entry
deadline is December 12th, 2011.
- A
team which finished in the top third of the standings in last
year's tournament is guaranteed a spot in this year's tournament
if their entry is postmarked by December 12th, 2011.
- Each
School can bring (1) one teams per division. Since it is a Tier I Tournament.
If there is room the second teams will put in by first come first serviced.
After the entry deadline of December 12th we will notify each coach if space exist for additional teams.
We have been given up to 44 lanes for A Squads and 44 lanes for B Squad so we should be able to allow some second teams.
You may use the entry form on our web site or e-mail Cindy Kane your team
roster in advance but we must have a check from your program to reserve
your spot by the December 12th. We will do our best to keep a list of
reserved spots on our website to keep you up to date on your status
and give you an idea of the field size and competition. Following the
deadline of December 12, 2010, if there are any available spots open,
additional teams on the waiting list may be entered into the tournament,
over the initial 1 teams per division, but only on a first come,
first served basis.
- CERTIFIED
This tournament will be certifified by USBC as
an intercollegiate event. All participants must be USBC
members and all schools represented must be USBC registered.
- REGISTRATION
- This
is a two-day tournament. Competition will be held on the
29th and 30th of December, 2011.
- Check-in
deadlines:
Squad A teams - 7:30AM-8:00AM Thursday
Squad B teams - 2:45PM-3:15PM Friday
Squad A teams - 7:00AM-7:30AM Thursday
Squad B teams - 12:30PM-1:00PM Friday
- Awards
will be held at 5:30pm
- Each
team will receive a 15 minute practice session
at start of Thursday and Friday.
- A
team representative or coach must be designated for each team.
The representative is responsible for the conduct and attendance
of his/her team at the tournament site.
- FORMAT
The format will consist of Five (5) team games on Thursday, and
Twenty (20) Baker games on Friday.
- TIES
- In
case of a tie in a team division standings, a one-game Baker system roll-off
will be held to determine the team championship.
- In
case of a tie for an individual award, duplicate plaques will
be awarded.
- PROTESTS
Scoring protests must be filed with the tournament office within
20 minutes of the conclusion of the game to which the protest
applies. Team captains must sign their teams' recap sheets
at the conclusion of each of a series of 3 team games. All signed recap
sheets will be considered official. In any dispute, the
decision of the tournament management shall be final unless an
appeal is made in accordance with USBC rule 329.
- AWARD
RESTRICTIONS
- No
tournament awards are transferable.
- An Individual
can only win one award High Average comes first then High Series for this
tournament. The awards will be a trophy or Plaques.
- If
a team fails to show for any game they are scheduled to bowl,
that team forfeits all awards won in this tournament.
EJECTION
The tournament management reserves the right to eject from the
tournament and/or refuse entry into the tournament in future years
any team which, in the tournament management's judgment, exhibits
improper an unacceptable behavior at the tournament site, at an
official tournament hotel, or in dealings with any other agency
with whom the tournament management has negotiated special arrangements
for tournament participants.
DRESS
CODE
Team uniforms are required. PROPER ATTIRE must be worn. Teams are expected to at a MINIMUM have shirts with the a collar
and SCHOOL NAME OR INITIALS. Teams may wear MOCK NECK shirts providing ALL team members
are wearing them and they have the SCHOOL NAME OR INITIALS.
BOWLING BALL LIMIT
In accordance with USBC Collegiate Bowling Tier 1 rules there will be a five (5)
bowling ball limit per student-athlete.
OTHERS
- Alcoholic
beverages and smoking are strictly prohibited during tournament
competition.
- In
the case of any unforeseen circumstances arising not covered
by these rules, the tournament management has the authority
to adopt a rule to cover such a circumstance.
