On March 16th, PSMA’s 4th annual Penn State Sales Competition took place. This event followed in the footsteps of last year’s competition as a huge success. Sponsoring companies, TEK Systems, Victaulic, Altria, PLS Logistics, Northwestern Mutual, and Liberty Mutual, were extremely impressed with the sales skills of our students. The unique PMSA Sales Competition was open to all PSMA members, where they showed their sales skills, after the culmination of an entire semester worth of hard work.
Our very own Dr. Franklin Carter, a marketing professor here at Smeal, walked the students through the Systema sales training course. They learned effective selling techniques, public speaking and how to best market products and services. The final presentation occurred during our daylong conference.
Students prepared two 15-minute sales presentations to give in front of three company representative judges over the two rounds of the competition. 1st place went to Laura Arce, 2nd place to Rebecca Fry, and 3rd place was a tie between Melissa Smith and Katarina Maggs. Congratulations to our winners!
