Executive Summary

The Penn State Marketing Association was founded on April 1, 1972, and is one of the largest organizations at Penn State University, as well as the largest professional student organization in the Smeal College of Business. PSMA is an active chapter in the American Marketing Association (AMA), the largest marketing society in the United States with nearly 45,000 members. In the past 5 years, we have been a gold chapter of the American Marketing Association 3 times. We will have 7 exciting divisons this year, all of which are open to members to gain marketing experience in the area that interests them the most. These divisons are sales, market research, advertising, entertainment marketing, sports marketing, retail, and THON. The philanthropy division is new to PSMA this year, and will provide members with a more well rounded experience and marketing perspective.

With today's competitive job market, high GPAs are simply not enough. The Pennsylvania Marketing Association, with nearly 70 leadership opportunities, will give members a competitive advantage and provide them with the real-world experience to set them apart. With real stakeholders, hard deadlines, clients, and a budget of over $60,000, PSMA will be run like a full-scale company and prepare all students for transition to the workplace.
