This year's Penn State’s 3rd annual AMA Regional Conference was held on November 3rd from 9am-3pm. Since 2010 PSMA conducted our own AMA Regional Conference every year, where students from Penn State and other chapters of the American Marketing Association compete in a case competition. This year we focused the conference around the booming area of “Social Media and E-marketing”. Throughout this conference students had the opportunity to listen to business leaders perspective on the growing area of internet marketing, and be able to put their skills to the test in a “Social Media and E-marketing” themed case competition. We put our students into a real life e-business situation in order to showcase their unique problem solving skills.
Students received the case a week prior to the date of the competition and work in groups of four to create their solution to the problem. On the day of the conference students gave 15-minute presentations to a panel of judges formally presenting how they would best solve the given issue.
