Basics
This year, the Pennsylvania State University Pre-Vet Club has the honor of hosting the 2007 American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (APVMA) National Symposium.  Already, we have begun planning the 3 day, 2 night event, and we will continue to update this website as we gather resources to keep everyone up to date with our progress.  Here are some FAQ's to help you get started.

What is APVMA?
The American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association, much like its professional counterpart- the AVMA, is a national association intended to broaden the reach of veterinary medicine and all it has to offer.  Of course, since its members are only prospective veterinarians, the APVMA's main goal is education.  For more information, visit the official website at www.apvma.us.
What is the National Symposium?
The national symposium is an annual 3 day, 2 night event in which pre-vet students from across the nation gather to attend a series of lectures and labs taught by a number of distinguished veterinarians from all types of veterinary fields.  Attendees also get to meet representatives from different veterinary schools, pharmaceutical companies, and laboratories.  It is a great opportunity to meet other aspiring pre-veterinary students and to have a lot of fun.
Who Can Attend?
This year, we are planning on hosting between 500 and 600 pre-veterinary students from across the nation.  Most attendees are members of university pre-vet clubs, but as long as you are enrolled in a college/university and register on time, anyone with an interest can attend.  We are strongly encouraging schools from the northeast to attend this year's symposium since Penn State is the most northeastern school to host the symposium yet.
