Hi everyone! I’m a senior majoring in Life Science with a Business in the Liberal Arts minor. As I’ve explored the field of dentistry, my interest in the profession has only continued to grow. My passion for children and volunteering in the community has drawn me to pediatric dentistry. A healthy, beautiful smile is a confidence builder, but also a sign of the good health that I am energized to help people achieve. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy community service, running, snowboarding, cooking, traveling, and musical theater. I’m looking forward to another exciting year with the PDS!

Hey everyone! I am a senior majoring in Art with a concentration in sculpture. The combination of a hands-on career and the ability to improve the smiles of people is what has inspired to me pursue a career in dentistry. Since I’ve explored the field of dentistry, I have become very interested in oral surgery. In my free time I enjoy working out, running, and painting. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone in PDS and having a great year!

Hi Visitors and Members of PDS, I am a junior majoring in Biobehavioral Health, with a minor in Biology. After working in my first dental office at the age of 16, I knew my calling was dentistry. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, most reality TV, and eating!  I am currently a Resident Assistant in South Halls. I really look forward to working with all of you, and providing you with excellent minutes!

Treasurer Caitlyn Hoysock cbh5038@psu.edu
Hello everyone! I am a senior majoring in Biology, specifically pursuing the general biology option. As I have explored the field of dentistry, I have fallen in love with the profession. Dentistry provides an excellent opportunity for a healthcare provider to develop strong relationships with patients. Aside from schoolwork, I enjoy creating artwork, swimming, cooking, and baking. In addition to these activities, I also enjoy all genres of dance, Broadway musicals, and marine life. I am extremely excited to work with PDS, serving the club as your treasurer. At Penn State, I am also involved in the Pre-Medical Society, Campus Crusade for Christ, and the Marine Science Society.

Hey Guys, I’m a senior majoring in Life Science.  Over the summer, I applied to a few dental schools and took my DATS so now I am waiting to hear for interviews.  I hope to specialize in Orthodontics or Oral Surgery but that may change after I experience them hands-on.  I am a Resident Assistant in Simmons Hall, love sports, and am an active member of AED.  Hope you like the website and I look forward to meeting you all.

Hey Guys! I am a senior majoring in Nutritional Sciences; however I have a growing passion for dentistry.  I firmly believe that oral health and our daily nutrition go hand in hand.  Along with that, I am excited to see PDS grow in THON.  THON is a student run philanthropy organization that raises money for kids with cancer.   Even though we are small we can still make an impact!  Outside of THON and the dental society I am an active KON member, avid equestrian, and I am employed at Café 210.

THON Chair Derek Hegyi    dmh5281@psu.edu
Hey Guys...I’m a junior majoring in Biology with a Psychology minor. I’m from San Diego in town called Del Mar.  I like to surf, go deep sea fishing, and eat lots of Mexican food.  I also have played football since the third grade and still like both watching and playing the sport.  As a result of growing up in with a single mother who happens to be an artist I also enjoy painting and beading in my spare time, which is fairly easy for me to do since my house doubles as an art studio.  I’ve been interested in dentistry as both my grandfather and step-uncle are dentists.

Orphanage Outreach Chair Erika Reckage   err5062@psu.edu
Hey guys! I am a junior majoring in Biology. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to pursue a career in the field of dentistry. With that dream and my passion for working with children, pediatric dentistry seems like the perfect fit for my future. I have lived on the New Jersey shore my whole life, and am proud to be a Jersey Girl despite what MTV says! Along with the PDS, I am a very active member of the Women’s Club Basketball team, and enjoy playing intramural sports such as soccer and volleyball. It is going to be a great year getting to know all of the PDS!
