Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate division of FBLA - Future Business Leaders of America. PBL offers many opportunities in leadership, community service, and competitive events. Here at Penn State, we are a Co-Ed Professional Business Fraternity. We participate in a broad range of projects and ventures on the national, state, and local levels. We initiate business ventures and professional development events, organize community service projects, and attend state and national leadership conferences and workshops while promoting the family oriented atmosphere that only our fraternity can provide. You do NOT, repeat, do NOT need to be a business major to join this organization. Everyone will need business skills sometime in their life.

Goals

  • Develop competent, aggressive business leadership.
  • Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.
  • Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise.
  • Encourage members in the development of individual projects, which contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community.
  • Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.
  • Encourage and practice efficient money management.
  • Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty.
  • Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals.
  • Facilitate the transition from school to work.
Creed
  • I believe free education is the right of every individual.
  • I believe the future depends upon mutual understanding and cooperation of business, industry, labor, and the home, church, and the school, and by the people of our own and other lands. I agree to do my utmost to bring about better understanding and cooperation on the part of all these groups.
  • I believe every individual should prepare for a useful occupation, and should carry on that occupation in a manner that will bring the greatest good to the greatest number.
  • I believe every individual should be actively interested in better social, political, community, and family life.
  • I believe that every individual has the right to earn a living at a useful occupation and that this right should not be denied because of race, color, creed, sex, or handicap.
  • I believe that every individual should take responsibility for carrying out assigned tasks in a manner that will reflect credit to oneself, one's associates, school, and community.
  • I believe that I have the responsibility to work efficiently and to think clearly, and I promise myself to use these abilities to make the world a better place for everyone.
Ethics
  • I will be honest and sincere.
  • I will approach each task with confidence in my ability to perform my work at a high standard.
  • I will willingly accept responsibilities and duties.
  • I will seek to profit by my mistakes and take suggestions and criticisms directed toward the improvement of myself and my work.
  • I will abide by the rules and regulations of my school. I will seek to improve my community by contributing my efforts and my resources to worthwhile projects.
