Rules and Regulations of Nittanyville

Sign-in Procedure

This new system involves some camper ground work before camping begins:

  • First, campers must log into ANGEL and go to their home page (the one that lists all your courses and whatever groups you're in).
  • Second, campers must go to the box below the box listing your courses. This box is entitled "My Groups." Find the link near the top of that box entitled, "Find a Group." It is in very small font directly below "My Groups." (Click Here to see a picture of where to go).
  • Third, after clicking on "Find a Group," campers must search in the "Keywords" box for the group called, of course, "Nittanyville." This should bring up one group simply called, "Nittanyville." This is an open group; anyone can enroll just by clicking on the group. (Click Here to see the search window and Click Here to see which group to select).
  • Fourth, once you have enrolled in the group... well.. you're done. For now, at least. This just saves you having to do this later. (Click Here to see the group in your My Groups box).

  • After enrolling in the group, it will be placed in the "My Groups" box on your ANGEL homepage.
During a normal week, at 9pm Wednesday evening a typical ANGEL "Drop-Box" will activate in the group.
(Click Here to see an example of a Nittanyville sign-in drop box).

When that Drop-Box activates, you will click on the link and input two critical pieces of information. Without these pieces of information, your entry into Nittanyville in the order in which you signed-up cannot be guaranteed. You must input in the subject line YOUR NAME as the representative of your camping group. In the text box of the drop box, you must type (or, copy n' paste... it's faster) THE NAMES OF ALL OF YOUR GROUP MEMBERS. (Click Here to see inside a drop box and the instructions on what information you need to submit). Once you have done that, hit Submit and your place in line will be established. You then have 1 hour to get up to Gate A. If you signed in your group online, YOU must be the representative to show your face at Nittanyville, sign up for a section, and pop your tent. From that point forward, it is like any other Nittanyville. Your group must have one member at the Gate at all times.

We must stress that this procedure DOES NOT ASSIGN YOU A SECTION OR A ROW OR ANYTHING ELSE. It merely establishes your place in line for section/row/seat sign-in when you physically arrive at Nittanyville.

In short, this makes it absolutely pointless to be at Gate A prior to 10 pm on Wednesday before a home football game. We encourage people to bring their laptops to the Gate and do this sign-in procedure there utilizing the Wi-Fi, but it is totally acceptable to do this sign-in at the dorms, in the HUB, at your apartment, in the library, or wherever else you can get an Internet connection. You simply MUST be at Gate A within 1 hour of signing up.

FINALLY, ONE and ONLY ONE member of your group may attempt to sign-in via ANGEL. When you provide us in your submission with the names of all your group members, we will check those names against the names of those who have signed in groups on ANGEL. If a name is repeated, your group will be automatically sent to the back of the lines. NO EXCEPTIONS. It would be wise of you to make sure you tell your group to not try to game the system and have everyone sign in your group via ANGEL to see who gets the best sign-in position.

This is the quick rules guide, designed to give you a short overview of the rules that all campers in Nittanyville are expected to follow. We highly encourage you to read the entire NCC Governing Policy and we fully expect all campers to abide by these rules. As with public law, ignorance of the law is not an acceptable defense.

  • Group size is limited to 10 people.

  • Camping may not begin until 11 pm Wednesday prior to a home game unless otherwise stated by the University.

  • Tents must be taken down prior to 7:00 a.m. the day of a football game.

  • Alcoholic beverages are completely prohibited at Nittanyville regardless of age. Being inside your tent doesn't preclude you from penalty. If you are caught, your name will be stricken from the Nittanyville list and you will not be allowed to obtain the place in line for which you camped.

  • No open flames are allowed at Nittanyville; this means no grilling!

  • Electric devices requiring an A/C power source are completely prohibited EXCEPT FOR: A/C adapter/chargers for laptops, iPods, cell phones, and air-mattress pumps to be used only at the power outlet behind the Resolution Booth. Extension cables and outlet-multiplying attachments are forbidden.

  • Campers and visitors may not commence in any activities that will potentially obstruct vehicular traffic on Porter or Curtin Roads near Gate A.

  • Keeping Gate A clean is your duty as a camper. Clean up after yourself and dispose of all trash in the proper receptacles.

  • Parking in the fire lanes on Curtin and Porter Roads is prohibited for extended periods. These areas are only to be used for quick loading and unloading of items.

  • Any violations of the NCC rules can result in the loss of one's whole group's place in line, the suspension of one's camping privileges, referral to Judicial Affairs, police citation, and/or arrest.

  • Remember: camping is a privilege, not a right.
