News from the 2007-2008 Season
NEW OFFICERS, NEWS (April 24th, 2008)
First off, we have new officers. Congratulations to Amanda Meyerson, our new secretary. Tom Boroch and Chris Grassi were reelected to the positions of the President and Vice President, respectively. This year, the PCC has decided to not have a Treasurer as the group does not actually deal with any money on a usual basis. For the purposes of reserving classrooms for meetings, one of the other officers will sign the forms.
In other news, you've no doubt heard about the new student ticket policy for 2008. Around mid-May you'll receive instructions on how things will work. At the end of May, there will be a 4-day window for students to "pre-register" for the ticket sales. This pre-registration will weed out students who do not qualify for tickets (not full-time students, poor academic standing [sub-2.0 GPA], etc.).
Then, in mid-June, tickets will go on sale. Tentatively, the dates are June 16-June 20th. On June 16th at 7 a.m., Seniors can log on to Ticketmaster and purchase tickets (approximately 5,250 sets will be alloted for each class, with slight variations depending on the general size of each class). The following morning, Juniors will go, Sophomores the next, Freshman the fourth, and finally grad students (who will vie for a much smaller slice of the pie) will go last on June 20th.
So, make sure you're up early to buy your tickets. You don't want to be left out in the cold!
FIRST MEETING, STUFF (March 23rd, 2008)
Okay, so we'll be having our first meeting of the Spring 2008 semester soon. It's on April 16th at 6:30 p.m. in 108 Henderson. We'll be electing new officers (which include President, VP, Secretary, and Treasurer). Send your nominations to President Tom (contact info on Contact Us page).
You must have attended at least 1 meeting this current academic year to vote and run/or for a positon.
Also, we have a LISTSERV now. If you want to join the LISTSERV (you'd have received an e-mail today if you are on it), just e-mail President Tom or the Vice President and you'll be added.
PATERNOVILLE VIDEO UP (February 29th, 2008)
Yes, big thanks to PCC member Alex Cohen who made the video now residing on the front page of the PCC website. After going through much pain and anguish, I finally got the video up for your viewing pleasure.
Please keep your eyes peeled for more news to come here at the PCC website as we will be having our first meeting of the Spring 2008 semester soon. We have to think about electing new officers! Yes, that means the Blue/White game is not far off... And, of course, we have to discuss some other issues like which game we would like to ask the University to allow us to camp out a week for, any rule changes you all would like to see made, etc. So get ready, folks.
PSU/MSU CHALLENGE (October 30th, 2007)
Hey folks, this isn't really a Paternoville news item but we were asked to post this year and we've gladly agreed to. We think this is a great incentive for you all to get involved in the PSU/MSU Challenge, a yearly blood-drive challenge we hold in conjunction with Michigan State. Between now and November 15th, if you go and donate blood at one of the PSU/MSU Challenge blood drives on campus, you can enter a raffle for some pretty cool prizes... Including one of the grand prizes, 4 tickets to the November 17th PSU/MSU game in East Lansing, MI and a hotel room! We know you're all die-hard football fans or you wouldn't be on this site, so go on and donate some blood for a good cause and maybe you'll get lucky with a trip to MSU!
OHIO STATE TO BE EXTENDED CAMPOUT (October 17th, 2007)
Yes, that's right, folksthere will, in fact, be an extended campout for the Ohio State game. So, starting Tuesday, October 23rd at 12:01 a.m., you may begin to pitch a tent in front of Gate A in anticipation of game. At no time prior to then may you pitch a tent, as normal.
All other normal rules apply to this campout, like no drinking, no open flames, etc. So come out and support the team, have fun, and obey the rules. See y'all out there!
HAVING A MEETING (September 26th, 2007)
Time for another meeting, folks! This time the meeting will be at 1:25 p.m. on Sunday September 30th in room 215 of Thomas Building. We'll be discussing what happened in the meeting with University administration following the ND game. In addition, we'll be talking about we need to do for the rest of the year and future seasons as a result of the meeting with administration. Hope to see everyone there and Iowa camp-out is just a week away!
SUCCESS! BUFFALO! AND STUFF... (September 11th, 2007)
The PCC extends great thanks to all those who showed up for the ND edition of Paternoville. You made the days out there very lively and successful by most all measures. There were hardly any problems at all compared to last year and things went generally smoothly. The PCC is extremely grateful and hopes you show up for many future contests!
In other news, the the camp out for the Buffalo game (September 15th, 2007) may begin at any time after 12:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13th. This is a return to normal operating procedures, as outlined by the University. There was some confusion this week as to whether or not the extended time would be in effect for other games this season. As stated in the very first rule of the Quick Rules Guide, unless otherwise stated, all camp outs can begin no earlier than midnight of the Thursday prior to a game. The ND game extension was a one-game extension, though with its success, there may be future extensions in the mix.
Finally, the PCC members met with University administration today to discuss the results of the first two camp outs of the season as well as development of new procedures for future issues, such as the possibility of having to vacate the area in front of Gate A due to inclement weather (this is a University decision; not a PCC one). As more details are hashed out, the PCC will report the results and make necessary changes to the rules and regulations of Paternoville. Keep on visiting the site and giving us your great feedback, folks! We appreciate it!
**ND CAMPOUT EXTENTISON** (September 2nd, 2007)
IMPORTANT: The University has granted a TWO DAY extension for the Notre Dame campout. This means that at 12:01 a.m., Tuesday September 4th, 2007, tents may be set up for the ND campout. PCC representatives will be there for on-site support and line placement. Please see PCC President Tom Boroch, VP Chris Grassi, Secretary Stef Swift, or member Brian "Fresh" Eller for addition to the Paternoville registry (this is NOT a requirement to camp out; it simply is a marker showing where you are in line for a particular section).
Addition (9/4/07): Local papers morning of 9/5/07 will run stories on Paternoville. Please check back here after 9/5/07 for special announcement.
PATERNOVILLE RETURNS! (August 30th, 2007)
Today marks the return of Paternoville to Gate A at Beaver Stadium. Tents have already been set up by students wanting to obtain first row seats for the Saturday, September 1st, 2007 contest between Penn State and Florida International. As of the time of this posting (8:45 a.m.), many first-row sections still remain, but they'll go quickly!
See you all there!
FIRST MEETING AND SITE UPDATES! (August 16th, 2007)
We have set a time and place for our fist meeting, folks! The first meeting of the PCC this year will be Tuesday, August 28th at 7:30 p.m. in 109 Boucke Building. The purpose of the meeting will be to go over the guidelines of camping out at Paternoville for newcomers as well as discuss the results of the ticket sale meeting we had with the Athletic Department. Also, and most importantly, we will discuss the extreme importance of the camp-out for the Notre Dame game in relation to the status of Paternoville with the university administration.
Finally, there are a few new updates to the site. The Rules and Regs and the Constitution are now available in PDF format and we have added a short list of important rules to follow while camping out in case you do not read the Rules paper. Also, Stef's picture was finally added on the Contact page.
P.S. I made a secret change to the site. First person to figure out the secret changes and e-mail me (Chris, the Webmaster) with what it is gets a prize (or maybe just an "attaboy/attagirl"). Hint: It's not an obvious change... It's an "alternate" change. Keyword: Alternate. *wink*wink*
ADVERTISING, SCHMADMERTISING! (July 24th, 2007)
Tom has begun advertising the site at the two largest PSU football-related messages boards on the net, Fightonstate.com and Blue & White Illustrated. Already we've had some response and Chris, in turn, has made some minor alterations to the site (nothing visual, more technical).
So, spread the word! P-Ville has a site!
WE ARE... LIVE! (July 8th, 2007)
That's right, folks. The Paternoville Coordination Committee website is NOW LIVE!
Check back for more updates in the future as we continue to modify our website in order to better serve you. Please e-mail the webmaster if you discover any problems with the website.
