| OK, here we go again…. The crowd wasn’t as big as last time, which worked for the better. The temperature was around 32 and it was nice and windy. When I was packing my things at my house I found to my misfortune that my suit and things where still a tad wet, but it wasn’t as bad as Creamer since he didn’t bring any insulation with him. On the walk down to the cave we noticed the stream sounded somewhat fuller than last time (which it was). Right inside of the cave there was an ice formation created resembling a waterfall shape. Throughout the cave there were a couple of larger than usual puddles in the path. Jeff Creamer and Sean were nice enough to check out the depth of the water in the muddy side passage for us. It was up to Jeff’s neck. After that we were on to the mud room, and even Gary was feeling a little brave. (i.e. last into the mud room) Aiding a mud battle between two cavers resulted in a lot of nicely painted mud on my face. Exiting the room was done as fast as possible because there was a constant bombardment from behind that didn’t end until you were out of the crawl. On the way out Gary made note that the cavity below the pit span had expanded in size. I braved the stream crossing and had a nice adrenaline rush while paddling through the ~ foot and half deep stream of rushing water. There was a nice turnout for the hot tub, but it was a little disappointing when Christine didn’t go for her first time. The usual testicle comments were thrown around and apparently Gary’s are made of steel while Sean’s resembled BB’s. Somehow I managed to get Sean to follow me though the alternate entrance of rushing water. The only small problem I encountered was fitting. I had to brush away a couple arm-loads of rock and pebble in order to make the squeeze. To our bad luck, after we were outside it was still windy. Highlight: Pizza Hut after while improperly clothed and muddy. |
