National Association of Black Accountants Welcome to the Pennsylvania State University Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (PSU NABA), a national membership organization. Our primary purpose includes developing, encouraging and serving as a resource for greater participation by all minorities considering business majors at Penn State. Our programs and special events are designed to help strengthen the skills and experience base of our student members and to encourage them to become actively involved in functions and activities directed toward business majors. NABA was established in 1969 by a group of nine African American accountants who were concerned about the limited number of minorities in the field of accounting, and particularly the limited amount of public accountants (CPAs). Today, the Penn State chapter caters to all minority business majors. NABA has a network of over 140 professional and student chapters nationwide, which span the continental United States and Alaska. The chapters are supported by the NABA National Headquarters Office, located in Greenbelt, Maryland. NABA works actively with business firms, corporations, colleges, and alumni of Penn State in the placement of minority candidates for positions in various business fields, and provides technical seminars for those considering careers in accounting, finance, marketing and management to name a few.
