Islamic Society of Central Pennsylvania Less than half mile off Penn State, located the Islamic Society of Central Pennsylvania (ISCP) which also serves as the local mosque for Muslim community in Central PA and the surrounding areas, including Penn State. Historically, Islamic Society of Central Pennsylvania (ISCP) began as a small prayer area in a rented apartment in 1982. As the community grew there was a need for an established facility and the current Mosque building was purchased in 1987. The ISCP provides various services to the Muslim community in Central PA and the surrounding areas. Examples include Friday prayers, regular Islamic classes/ halaqas, outreach programs to non-Muslim community, weekend Islamic school, chaplaincy services to Muslim inmates and plenty of other special programs. The Mosque is also the central point around which many community activities revolve. ISCP has been working closely with the Penn State MSA to serve the Muslim student community at Penn State.
