Exercise is Medicine™
If one prescription could help lower your weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar; prevent heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity; and improve sleep, cholesterol, bone, heart and mental health - wouldn't you take it?
Many people only view exercise as a means for weight loss; in reality the collateral benefits of exercise make a dramatic impact it has on all aspects of life, from the physical and physiological to the social and psychological. That is why the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association have launched the Exercise is Medicine program. Our goal? To make physical activity assessment and prescription a standard part of the medical paradigm.
