Spring Semester

The spring semester has begun here at Penn State. Our Winter Camp was very productive and we are continuing along that same pace in our weekly practices.

Excitement has been increasing as we are less than 2 weeks from our first performance, our Friends & Family Show. The show will be held on Sunday, January 30 in the White Building, here at Penn State. The time will be announced at a later time. This is possibly our only performance on campus so come check us out!

Our first competition will be the following weekend, Saturday, February 5, at the WGI Regional in South Brunswick, New Jersey. If you will be in the area, please come cheer us on!

Show Change

We will now be performing at the Friends & Family Show at Northern York High School this Thursday at 8 pm. We are all very excited to see our friends there and show them our show.

We will be performing at 12:18pm at the South Brunswick WGI Regional. Please come support us at our first competition in 2005!

Also note another change in the competition schedule. We will not be attending the competition at Archbishop Ryan High School, but we will now be going to Hershey High School on February 19.

And the 2005 Season begins...

Penn State Eclipse has been very busy for the past month. Our show has finally been completed, with uniforms, new silks, and a painted floor finally added.

Our exhibition performance at Northern York High School went wonderfully and was a great debut of our show.

The following weekend we headed out to New Jersey for our first competition at South Brunswick High School. Eclipse got a score of 54.9 and placed 10th out of 14 color guards in the Independent A prelims competition. You can see pictures from our performance, courtesy of Bateman Photography, here.

After a weekend off to continue cleaning and working hard to improve our show, Eclipse attended their first TIA competition at Hershey High School. We placed first in Independent A with a score of 64.2.

This weekend we will be performing at Central Mountain High School in Mill Hall, PA. Eclipse is on at 7:47 pm, please come cheer us on!

Penn State University will be on Spring Break from March 4 until March 13. Eclipse will be returning a few days early to attend a competition at DuBois.

We will be performing at 1:26 pm at the WGI Boston Regional.

Our Friends & Family Show has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 3. The show will be held in 126 White Building at Penn State, at 2 pm. The Penn State Indoor Drumline will also be performing their 2005 show. This will be our only performance on the Penn State campus so this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to come see what we are all about!

One of our instructors, Chris Crebs (aka Tucker), has joined Apex Color Guard for the season. We wish him and the entire color guard a great season. Although he will be missed on the weekends, we are proud of Tucker and can not wait until we get to see him perform!

The End of Season is Approaching

Eclipse only has 2 competitions left in their 2005 season! TIA Chapter 4 Championships will be held on Sunday, April 24 at Central Mountain High School. Later that week, Eclipse will be heading down to Wildwood, New Jersey for TIA All- Chapter Championships.

Independant A prelims will be held Thursday night, April 28. Eclipse is currently scheduled to perform at 9:32 pm. Indepenant A finals will be held around the same time on Saturday night.

On April 2, Eclipse competed at St. Marys High School and received a score of 81.2. We received the highest score at the entire show and had an amazing run.

The following day was our Friends and Family Show. We would like to extend a BIG thank you to the International Dance Ensemble for performing two wonderful dances for us. We would also like to thank everyone who came out to support us! It means a lot to all of us that you could come and see our show!

This past weekend, we traveled to Dayton, Ohio for the 2005 WGI World Championships. After a late departure from State College on Wednesday night, we reached Dayton early Thursday morning. We rehearsed at a local high school and headed to the Nutter Center for our performance. We once again has a great show, but unfortunately only received a score of 70.7. We spent the rest of the weekend watching color guards, shopping at the Dayton Mall, eating at Wendy's, and just having a great time!

We will not be attending a competition this weekend, however we are still hard at work during practices. Look for some exciting changes to our show at Chapters!
