Tollie Contento joins the Penn State Indoor Drumline staff once again as a design team member and part-time pit instructor. Her experience dates back 16 years, from her high school days at CB West, forward, where she performed with the Penn State Indoor Drumline (1998 - before they marched!), the Jersey Surf (1995, 1996, 1998) and the Crossmen (1999). Most recently, Tollie performed with (2005) and taught (2006, 2007) the 3x World Champion, 3x high-percussion, front ensemble section of the Reading Buccaneers. A Vic Firth Educator, she has taught numerous high schools in the tri-state area over the last 11 years including CB West, Methacton, Quakertown, Hatboro-Horsham, Upper Darby, Berwick, and Archbishop Ryan. She also instructed the Riptide 2001 and 2002 front ensembles, the 2002 and 2003 Bushwackers front ensembles (also performing in 2003), consulted with the Lehigh Valley Knights and the Penn State Indoor Drumline in 2004 and instructed the 2005 United Indoor Percussion Ensemble. Tollie is no stranger to Penn State, having graduated from University Park in 1999 with a major in Biology: Vertebrate Physiology and Neuroscience and from Penn State Great Valley in 2006 with a Master's Degree in Information Systems . |
