the gamma omega chapter of alpha tau omega fraternity is starting up a new community service called adopt-a-grandparent. during the spring, we took several trips to assisted living/retirement homes in the area and spent time with senior citizens. it is not uncommon for elders to become lonely. we will try to combat this loneliness for those who are interested by spending time with them, telling stories, sharing memories, and overall helping to enlighten their lives. we feel this is a great way to give back to the community and therefore decided it was how we would dedicate our time. we are currently planning dates for the fall and are looking forward to another semester involved in adopt-a-grandparent.
