National Association of Graduate and Professional Students
The National Association of Graduate and Professional Students (NAGPS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of graduate and professional student life in the United States of America . To this end, NAGPS works to actively promote the interests and welfare of graduate and professional-degree-seeking students in public and private universities, as well as in the public and private agencies at the local, state, and national levels. In addition, through its national office and regional networks, NAGPS acts as a clearinghouse for information on graduate and professional student groups at all stages of development.
GSA at Penn State is one of the founding members of NAGPS and receives benefits as a result of its membership. Among these material benefits are access to an on-line Job Bank, Fellowship and Grants Internet search engines, and student discounts in travel and purchases. NAGPS also holds national conferences and makes students aware of changes in legislation, financial aid, or income tax policies that may affect graduate students. |
