Name: David Galbraith

Standing: Graduate student
Major: Entomology
Bio: I am in the second year of graduate school, working towards a
Ph.D in entomology. My research mainly focuses on the regulation of genes in
honey bees. I’ve been in Golden Key since 2009, and have been an officer
since the beginning, acting as social chair for a majority of my membership.
I hail from the small town of Brookville, in west-central Pennsylvania. My
main areas of interest outside of academics are athletics (pretty much all
sports), hiking, camping, and just generally having a good time! My
experiences have helped to shape me into the person that I am today, and
have provided me with a unique skill set that has helped advance our chapter
of Golden Key.

Bio:
My name is Kathleen Sheppard.
I am vice president of The Pennsylvania State University’s Golden Key
Chapter. I am a junior rehabilitation
and human services major. I hope to
be an occupational therapist after earning my master’s.
I am from Havertown, PA, which is near Philadelphia.
I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, and country music!
Name: Sabrina Marie Spontak

Standing : Junior
Major : Management
Bio: Hello fellow Golden Key
members! My name is Sabrina Spontak. I am a junior at the Smeal College of
Business studying management and management information systems. I am from a
small town by the name of Kaska, PA. A very quaint area with a lot of
character.
Since I can recall I have always loved being involved
with organizations and volunteering my time and effort towards the success
of each organization that I belonged to. As a young teen I always helped
fund-raise for my softball team and now as an adult I still strive for the
opportunity to make a difference to help loved ones and all humankind. I
believe volunteering is a great way to embrace your true ethical and moral
standing in the world. Last summer I joined my local 4-H club which offers
services to youth within the community by teaching them leadership roles and
by collaborating on ideas to help the surrounding non-profits in our area.
By nature I am a very passionate and easily motivated individual when the
right reasons are presented to me.
I am equally involved and passionate about my
concentration in school as well as the Golden Key International Honor
Society. When I join a club or partake in academics I take my
responsibilities very seriously. If any concerns rise about my grades or
assignments I quickly respond. Additionally, if a club is in distress then I
am distressed. When involved with a club or academics I feel the necessity
to strive with all my power to obtain success while maintaining an ethically
stable culture.
With regards to my major I hopefully will aspire to be
working in either the human resource and/or consulting sector of management.
I greatly enjoy problem solving especially on a more personable note. Face
to face communication always seems to be the best method of understanding
either the person or the situation. To be able to use my personal experience
with my academic background to help and improve someones life and business
would be the ultimate job satisfaction.

Major : Mechanical Engineering
Bio: My name is Jon Rees. I was born and
raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I enjoy playing sports and hanging with
friends. I am one of the community service co-chairs, for Penn State's
Golden Key Chapter. I am working towards my mechanical engineering bachelors
degree here at Penn State and I am hoping to go on to graduate school. I
hope eventually to be working with a corporation, where I use my engineering
skills to improve the well-being of others or make an impact with some new
technology. Specifically, I would like to specialize in either medical or
ride design.

Major: Japanese and Telecommunications
Bio: I started my Penn State story at the Schuylkill Haven campus
where I studied mostly IST and computer sciences. When I came to University
Park in the summer of 2010, I started taking Japanese classes and declared
my major as Japanese. Later on, I decided to add Telecommunications as my
secondary major because it satisfied my curiousity in media and especially
technology. Since I will be spending the next year in Japan to finish my
major, I will graduate a little late, but the experience will most certainly
be worth it. After I graduate, I want to start building up teaching
experience by teaching in Japan for a year. I also want to get involved in
some sort of technological industry. I eventually want to go to graduate
school and I ultimately want to be a college-level educator. In my free
time, I often read, watch movies, play video games and study Japanese.
