Project Honduras

Three years ago, GlobeMed Penn State partnered with CURE International Honduras to create Project Honduras. This project was created in conjunction with CURE Medical Director Edwards Schwentker, MD, and the founding GlobeMed Penn State Board.

The focus of CURE Honduras is to help children and families with orthopedic problems. This is accomplished by providing free spiritual support and medical care to patients and hosting training programs in various locations across the country for other physicians.

Honduras is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. As a result, many Honduran citizens lack basic necessity such as food, clothing, access to education, and access to medical care. With these concerns in mind, Dr. and Mrs. Schwentker and GlobeMed Penn State have joined efforts to create the “Access Granted Fund.”
