“The Access Granted Fund”- Strengthening Our Partner’s Efforts

The Access Granted Fund provides financial support to families who would otherwise be unable to afford the travel costs associated with hospital visitation. CURE Honduras is the only organization in Honduras dedicated to orthopedic care. And as a result, patients come from all across the country to receive medical attention. Unfortunately, in the past, financial barriers prohibited many patients from receiving follow-up care or even initial surgeries. The Access Granted Fund was established to ensure this barrier is no longer an impediment.

Investment in proper and timely orthopedic care is an investment in patient self-sufficiency and long-tem health. Infected, broken, or misshaped bones impede mobility and the patient’s ability to cultivate fields and work in the house. As Honduras is primarily an agrarian society, this form of defect can be detrimental to sustaining a livelihood. Together, CURE’s continuous work and the Access Granted Fund provide individuals with the tools to become productive and healthy members of society.
