GlobeMed Penn State's twofold approach:
Training students to become dynamic and responsible global health leaders: This is accomplished through student-led workshops, GlobeMed Penn State's Global Health Conference, and our Distinguished Speaker series.
Working to strengthen grassroots efforts: For the past three years, GlobeMed Penn State has worked with our health partner, CURE International Honduras, to create The Access Granted Fund. This fund has helped numerous children acquire needed medical care by covering the travel and lodging expenses that often impede families in Honduras from accessing healthcare. In order to ensure we are meeting our partners needs, our members serve within our Honduran community each summer and then reflect upon our progress.
Thanks to sponsors like you, GlobeMed Penn State has provided children in Honduras with access to medical care. Last year, 100% of our fundraising efforts went toward covering travel costs for those patients who otherwise could not have afforded to seek medical attention.
Each year our service team travels to Honduras. This trip is fully paid for by the individual service team member to ensure fundraising efforts benefit The Access Granted Fund.
All proceeds donated through the website will go towards the Access Granted Fund. However, if you would like your contribution to go towards student Education and Training efforts or the Honduras service trip, you can do so by specifying and sending a check to GlobeMed Penn State with a note written in the memo.
