About Us & FAQ
What is GAPS?
The Gaming Association of Penn State is a student organization with the purpose of providing alternative activities for students on weekends, providing entertainment and fun for fellow students, providing a resource for gamers connect with others, and generally promoting the gaming community on campus.
What we do
We have a large selection of table top games that we put out for people to play, such as Apples to Apples, the entire Munchkin series, Arkham Horror, and other niche games. We also support video games of various types, and occasionally do poker tournaments as well. People are also welcome to bring their own games to play, as we are always looking for new games to add to our collection.
Does this cost anything?
Open gaming and membership are free, and most events are also free,
though we may have some events that have dues. However, this will be
made known ahead of time. We do sell Membership cards, which are
optional, for $5. These cards offer discounts at various locations in
downtown State College. The Membership cards have been printed and will be on sale at both Nittany Line Hobby Shop on Fraser Street in Downtown State College and at our Open Gaming on Saturdays, 4 PM until Midnight. These cards are good for a year.
