Power Lion

The power lion is a trailer mounted with solar panels. We have used it in the past to power or subsidize various outdoors festivals. In addition, we use as a great learning and teaching tool.

Vertical Axis Wind Turbines

Research, design, model, prototype,and test a VAWT design to be integrated with the Power Lion or be a stand alone design.

Final Goal: .5 kW output turbine

Energy Audits

The purpose of the energy audits is to gather information about a house (namely fraternity houses) and recommend some solutions in order to reduce their need for energy. This can be as simple as moving around insulation or changing light bulbs, to as great as investing in new windows and heating systems.

Dry Toilets

There is a possibility of beginning the design of dry toilets for a hospital in Haiti. More details to come in the coming semester.

Solar Cooking

With this project, we are going to analyze how solar cookers work, as well as document our research. Then we will get some materials, and build several different models to see which ones work the best. Ultimate goal: solar powered tail gate.
