offered during the academic semesters at University Park Campus. Once you have
decided which course you are interested in and best fits your needs, inquire

Heartsaver CPR and AED
Course Description: This course teaches
the basic techniques of adult CPR and the use and importance of Automated
External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Intended Audience: Firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards,
other lay rescuers, and those who may need to respond to a cardiac emergency.
Course Length: 4 hours
Heartsaver CPR & First Aid
Course description: Same as above including a basic first aid module.
BLS for Health Care Provider
Course Description: This course is
designed to meet the needs of health care professionals who respond to cardiac
and respiratory emergencies. Content includes Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
(both one and two-rescuer,) proper treatment for the choking Adult, Child, and
Infant, and instruction on barrier devices and automatic external
defibrillation.
Intended Audience: Health care providers, such as physicians, nurses, EMTs,
allied health professionals, and other professionals who support medical staff
whose job requires successful completion of a written evaluation and skills
performance.
Course Length: 4 hours
BLS for Health Care Provider Renewal
Course Description: Renewal for health
care providers who have previously taken the full course.
Intended Audience: Health care providers, such as physicians, nurses, EMTs,
allied health professionals, and other professionals who support medical staff
whose job requires successful completion of a written evaluation and skills
performance.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge
and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS, and has developed instructional
materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course
does not represent course sponsorship by the American heart Association, and
any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
