FAQ
Who are we?
As a part of the student government we are the student’s main contact with the Dean’s office, but we primarily act as a social group for science students. For those who are not involved in Greek organizations, the council offers many comparable activities such as making a homecoming float and our yearly formal.
Are there leadership opportunities available?
Yes, the council currently is in need of officers for the spring semester and the fall. There are a fairly large number of officer roles which any active member of the council can fill.
What are some of the benefits of joining?
The council is a great way to meet alumni and faculty. The council has career speakers each semester and is also involved in the fall and spring career fairs. The council is a perfect place to meet mentors and get help finding co-ops, internships, etc.
What are some of the activities the council does?
We have broomball each semester, fall hayride, homecoming float prep, a spring formal and more!
What kind of time commitment would be required of me?
You can pick and choose the activities you would like to participate in. There are only four meeting a year, so the amount of time you spend with the council is up to you.
