Whats New?!

Hello,

          The Economics Association's trip to the Federal Reserve is a once in a life-time opportunity. Learn what measures Fed officials are taking in times of crisis what steps are they considering to take next.We have confirmation from the Federal Reserve that we are invited to attend a lecture from Fed officials ( The Chief of Monetary Affairs as well as the Chief of Staff) on April 3rd. We will be staying overnight in the DC metro area and coming back the next morning. For those of you interested in coming to the Federal Reserve, I need you to send me an e-mail with your full-name, date of birth and social security number, Penn State user ID and an emergency contact number. For those of you who are international students I need your passport number and the country that issued your passport (all this information will used for a background check that Federal Reserve requires for us to visit). We also require a $30 deposit, the deposit will be refundable until March 19th.
          We will having a meeting this Thursday at 6:00 in 101 Osmond. During the meeting I will be talking about upcoming corporate speakers as well as the logistics for the Fed trip.

          The EA Fed trip is a great opportunity for you to learn what will happen to the country in the long run.

Hello Everyone,

          Welcome back to another semester at University Park. Our Spring semester is going to be filled with many activities brought to you by the EA. Here is a small list of what we expect to do:

- Trip to the Federal Reserve is Washington, D.C. (Date to be announced)
- A Lecture by the former Fed Governor Fredrick Mishkin (April 17th)
- The Great Debate (April 9th)
- Golf Tournament (Weather Permitting)
- Spring Stock Market Challenge (Starting February 2nd Click Here to join now!)

          We are also expecting to have lots of corporate speakers from a wide range of companies and industries. We expect to have our first meeting scheduled for next Thursday as long as we can acquire a room. The time and date for this meeting will be announced here on the website and sent in an email.

Hey Everyone,

          I hope you all had a great Turkey break and you all stayed safe. The order for the t-shirts will be going through tomorrow and we may or may not have them ready for this Thursdays meeting. If we do not have them then we will be giving them out all next week. Thursday December 4th will be our next meeting in 104 Thomas at 6:00pm. We will be giving out the prizes for the top 3 gainers in our stock market challenge. The prizes are Visa giftcards of $200, $100 and $50 and the competition ends Thursday the 4th at 4:00pm. Keep trading! We will also be having food and beverages for everyone so make sure to come out and enjoy the food and cheer on the winners.
