About Us

Matt Presents          The Penn State Concert Choir is comprised of undergraduate and graduate student musicians representing the Penn State School of Music as well as other areas of study within the University.  Presenting several concerts each semester on campus, the Choir also tours extensively in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and has also expanded its outreach with concert tours of New England, Louisiana, and the Southwest.  International audiences have heard performances of the Penn State Concert Choir in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.  Most recently, the Choir toured England and sang concerts in London, Stratford, Bath, Wells, and Salisbury.
In addition to singing unaccompanied music of all historical periods and styles, the Concert Choir also regularly collaborates with instrumental ensembles to perform the great major works of the repertoire.  Individually, the Concert Choir has performed the Mozart Requiem with the Penn State Chamber Orchestra and Bruckner's Mass in E-flat with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble.  The Choir has also participated in performances of Mahler Symphony No. 2 (Resurrection), Beethoven Symphony #9, and Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem with combined choirs of Penn State and the Philharmonic Orchestra.  The Penn State Concert Choir has performed at conferences of the American Choral Directors Association as well as the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association.
