Two
Twenty Two Discipleship"And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses,
commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." (2 Timothy
2:2)The Two Twenty Two Discipleship program
is designed for students who want to strengthen their relationship with Jesus
Christ. Discipleship is more than just Bible study, but learning through life
interaction as well. Therefore, it is critical for students to be involved with
families and more experienced Christians. There are two tracks that you can
take, and you can be involved in both, or one at a time:Adopt-A-StudentThis ministry is designed to provide a
home-away-from-home for Penn State students through families of Faith Baptist
Church "adopting" a student into their home. This may involve home-cooked meals,
inclusion in family activities, special snacks during finals week, remembering a
birthday, or simply having a place to go for fellowship or counsel. While each
"adoption" is as unique as the individuals involved, the experience has been a
blessing to both the families and the students, often with the relationship
continuing long after the student has graduated and moved away. If you would
like to participate in the Adopt-a-Student program, please fill out the attached
registration form. Your "adoption" will be arranged without
delay!MentorshipThis ministry is for those students who
can commit to meeting weekly with a mentor for a year. During the meetings, the
mentor will be a prayer partner, accountability partner, and Bible study leader.
The mentor will walk you through lessons that are designed to help you realize
your identity in Christ, deepen your relationship with the Lord, and understand
your responsibilities as a disciple of Christ. Also, specific needs may arise in
your life that can be shared with your mentor for Biblical counseling and
support. If you would like to participate in the Mentorship program, please fill
out the attached registration form. You will then be partnered with a more
experienced Christian from Faith Baptist to mentor you. Also, as the verse above
indicates, disciples should multiply, so after you complete the program, please
consider becoming a mentor!Download the Two
