Leadership
The President of the Beta Theta Chapter calls meetings and presides over the meetings of the Executive Board. He/She appoints members to positions as needed. The President directs the other members of the Executive Board in their duties in accordance with the International Constitution and National Bylaws. He/She seeks to promote the welfare of the chapter and the fraternity. The President is also the chapter representative to the SMEAL College of Business 'Business Roundtable' group, unless this role is designated to another student.
The Vice President of the Beta Theta Chapter assists the President in the performance of prescribed duties and acts in the President's place in event of his/her absence or incapacity. In the event the office of President becomes vacant during the school year, the Vice President shall assume all duties and responsibilities of the President. The Vice President's main responsibility is to oversee the actions of the fall & spring new member classes.
The Treasurer collects money owed to the chapter, disburses money from the chapter, maintains appropriate financial records, arranges for the audit (if necessary), and prepares the chapter's tax return. The Treasurer is also entrusted the responsibility to plan the trip to the national convention. His/Her duty is to present the case to the University Park Allocation Committee (UPAC) to receive funding for the annual trip to the national convention.
The Reporting Secretary records the minutes of the meetings of the chapter and the executive committee. He/She ensures that the chapter is up to date with requirements. The Reporting Secretary makes changes to the membership roster as he/she feels necessary. He/She ensures that the remittance of pledge fees, initiation fees, and chapter dues are paid in accordance with the Program of Chapter Activities. He/She prepares and transmits such other reports as required by the Board of Directors and the Program for Chapter Activities and fulfills all other duties ordinarily associated with the office of Reporting Secretary.
The Corresponding Secretary communicates to the professional firms and service organizations keeping communication between the chapter and outside organizations. He/She writes and sends letters of appreciation to those who present to the chapter, donate to the chapter, or positively influence the chapter in any capacity.
Director of Public & Alumni Relations - The duties of this office are to promote Beta Alpha Psi meetings through class presentations, flyers and overheads, update the chapter's website, and to maintain the chapter's listserv to send out e-mails. They are also in charge of strengthening alumni relations through an alumni newsletter. Two alumni newsletters should be distributed each semester. This committee can implement any plan to foster alumni involvement.
Director of THON - The duties of this is office are to promote the Beta Theta Chapter and Beta Alpha Psi in Penn State 's IFC/Panhellic Dance Marathon. They should organize canning trips to raise money for THON on behalf of the chapter. They should strengthen the relationship between the chapter and THON. (THON is the largest student run philanthropic event in the United States raising money for the Four Diamonds Fund and cancer research.
Director of Service Activities - The duties of this office are to organize and plan service activities within the community for the membership of the Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. The main relationships that have been established and should be continued to be fostered are the American Red Cross with their blood drives and the Second Mile. They should promote volunteerism within the group and must make sure that the chapter meets the Service Activity requirements set forth by nationals.
