In addition, level eligibility during this competition is in accordance to the USA Dance Proficiency points system. The Keystone Classic is not a sanctioned USA Dance Competition. Proficiency points will not be awarded. You may only compete in your skill level for all styles.
This means that a bronze dancer cannot do both Bronze and Newcomer American Style Foxtrot or Bronze and Silver American Style Foxtrot. The level of the partnership will be determined by the highest level in the partnership. For example, a gold follow cannot dance with a bronze leader and vice versa. Registrations will be reviewed for level violations.
Exception:
(1) If you are dancing in Gold, you may also dance in Pre-Championship.
(2) Fun events are open to all and not subject to these restrictions.
USA Dance Membership
The Keystone classic is not a sanctioned USA Dance Competition. A USA Dance membership is not required and USA Dance points will not be awarded.
Invigilation
We will be using the ISTD syllabus for international style and the Collegiate syllabus for American style. All participants must use these syllabi and rules. You can obtain copies of them using the following links:
