Membership Information

 

Penn State AWIS Chapter Membership Requirement

1. Come to meetings and event to obtain Active Membership Points!! (see below)

2. Acquire AWIS National Membership!! (see below for details)

Active Membership Point System:

To be an active member, one must complete a minimum of 15 points.

Each activity will be assigned a different amount of points.

 

Point System Breakdown

Fall Activities:

General Meeting 1 pt
Committee Meeting 1/2 pt
Homecoming Float 5 pts
Air Band 5 pts
Nittany Pursuit 2 pts
Blood Drive-Donate Blood 3 pts
Blood Drive-Work 1 pt for 2 hours
Attending SWIS-7 pts
Shavers Creek- 3 pts
Fundraisers-1 pt for 5 tkts
Working at a Fundraiser-2 pts

Spring Activities:

General Meeting - 1 pt
Committee Mtg 1/2 pt
Stayover – 7 pts
Blood Drive - Donate 3 pts
Blood Drive - Work 1 pt/ 2 hrs
Social – 1 pt

Tutoring – 5 pt
Giving money – 1 pt
Selling 20 candy bars- 2 pt
Going to Five Guys- 1pt
Attending Rootbeer Pong Tourney- 1 pt
Working hub table for an hour- 1pt
Ink cartridges=1/every 4 cartridges

 

 

THERE ARE INCENTIVES FOR ACCUMULATING POINTS!!!!!

For points accumulated beyond the minimum for active membership, you could win some cool rewards!! The 2 members (officers are not eligilbe) with the highest number of points will each receive a $25.00 Visa Card. Active members will also have the chance to win T-shirts.

 

Additional Active Membership Requirements

All members must pay dues to be members of PSU Chapter and National Chapter Members. The cost of dues is ONLY $30 ($25 for National Chapter and $5 for PSU Chapter). CLICK HERE to get instructions on obtaining AWIS National Membership.
