Penn State Students Attend ASHRAE Winter Conference in Chicago! Architectural Engineering Seminar Series, Spring 2009 ASHRAE Internship Program in Washington, D.C. Charlie Haack (5th year AE, Mechanical Option) was selected as the 2009 ASHRAE intern for the Washington Internship for Students of Engineering (WISE). The WISE program is a nine week summer program focused on issues of technology and public policy. The interns meet with leaders in congress, industry and government contracting agencies on a daily basis throughout the summer. They are also required to write a policy research paper and give a presentation to an audience of policy makers. Charlie's research paper will cover energy efficiency standards for existing buildings. During his internship Charlie will be living on the George Washington University campus in downtown Washington, DC.
