Academy of Development Science, as a people oriented Science
& Technology organisation, is primarily concerned with
the problems faced by village communities, particularly the
tribals, the landless and small & marginal farmers.
Major objective of the organisation is to promote
sustainable development by seeking active participation of
the community.
The proposed project seeks to provide gainful employment
opportunities to marginalised groups (mainly women and the
handicapped) through skill training in bamboo craft and wood
work.
Specifically the support is requested for the following:
- Stipend to trainees and artisans.
- Tools & equipment for wood work, bamboo,
stitching, etc.
- Raw material (bamboo, softwood, cotton cloth, etc.)
- Consummables (thread, needles, printing inks,
vegetable dyes, varnish, nails, etc.)
The funding requested is for an amount of Rs. 1,71,400
(approx US $4000).
